There is an issue with the installer.

When I try to run it in the command line, it outputs this:

Code: Select all

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action (GOG.com)Extraction failed.
  100% Signal caught, cleaning up

There are no problems with the installer. Just installed the game.

Never mind. I got the game files by running the unzip command on the .sh installer. It got the binary data from the file and extracted it.

The problem I was experiencing must be specific to my distribution.

Now to manually install the game without helper scripts... :/

Manually made a FreeDesktop launcher of the game. Works completely fine :D

Oh. So I figured out the issue.

The installer relied on the 'tar' command to function, which is basically the same as 'gtar'. But due to a bug with my package manager (xbps), tar wasn't linked with gtar.

Running this command:

Code: Select all

sudo xbps-alternatives -s tar
solved the issue.

Now the installer works fine and I have the game properly (* ̄▽ ̄)b
