First, check if you have gatekeeper disabled.
Now, open the game folder > select the game > right click mouse button over the game > Show Package Contents > Contents > MacOS
Open a terminal and type

Code: Select all

sudo chmod +x
drag the game inside and press return
Also, you can try in terminal the command:

Code: Select all

sudo xattr -cr
and drag again the game inside, press return

PS: deny outgoing connections with a firewall when you play the game.

thanks for the reply, the gatekeeper is turned off, before you follow your advice, the game (which is strange) started, then I turned it off and tried to start it again and it did not start, then I tried again and it started. your advice didn’t affect such a strange behavior, but thank you

Cannot properly install DLC. When unpacking, should I direct the content to a specific folder of the game?

Don't understand your issue : you don't have to unpack the DLC but install them with the system installer. You specify the same directory as the main game and the files go directly to the right place

I have re-installed both the game and DLC with the same result. The Main exe icon runs the game but doesn't recognize the DLC.
However, the Folder created with the DLC seems to have a new exe which my computer cannot open (prohibition symbol). Maybe is that one? and how do I open it?

Lelcar, what's your hardware/software?
Prohibited often means it's not compatible with your MacOS version.
GOG .pkg-Installer Error?? TAKE THIS
Thanks everyone contributed and coded this!

MacOS Monterey version 12.4
Still, why should it reject that exe when the rest of the game just works? Maybe I should try through Terminal.

Edit:Still not working after disabling gatekeeper.

Usually DLC do not install new exes, just activators or new assets like this game. Your problem may be that this exe is a 32 bits one which won't work on Monterey. You can try the following command in Terminal :

$ file /path/to/your/exe

and it will tell you if it's a 32 or 64 bits exe

Could you give us more info like the name of the DLC and of the exe?
