Was there a scene English ISO release of Cultures (2000/2001) and Cultures 2 (2002)?

And if you need the NFO for Cultures-FLT, then you can download it here. It's a collection of NFOs for the first 1000 FLT ISO releases. The filename should be flt-360.nfo

It appears that the Revolt release was named "Revolt_Racing_Out_of_Control-FLT", back in '99.
That's what in xrel.to says..

What do I know, check also these PreDBs:

I think it's not that conclusive.

rigger, someone said for Hidden_And_Dangerous-FLT and Discworld_Noir_Final-FLT that they don't even match with NFO.
Hidden_And_Dangerous-FLT - 31 x 15 MB, FLT-HD.RAR ->.029, I have flt-hd.rar - flt-hd.r29 - that's actually fine, they make mistakes like this all the time, so as long as 2 out of 3 name/part number info matches, I consider it OK, but if you say it's a repack, then it is
Discworld_Noir_Final-FLT - CD1 - 38 x 15 MB, FLT-D3CD1.RAR ->.036, I have flt-d3cd1.rar - flt-d3cd1.r36 - again, it seems OK
So before you mentioned these 2, we didn't really have enough info to mark them as repacks.
Then I went checking every single one of my 173 left 1999 releases (I skipped all besides FLT, because they don't have enough info) and these didn't check with NFO:
B_Hunter-FLT - 18 x 15 MB, FLT-BH.001 -> 018, I have flt-bht.rar - flt-bht.r16, SFV is with dates, this can't be a mistake in the NFO, 99% it's a repack
Jeff_Gordon_XS_Racing-FLT - 48 x 15 MB, FLT-JGXS.R01->R48, I have flt-jgxs.001 - flt-jgxs.048, SFV is with dates, I don't know, it should still be fine and just a mistake in the NFO
Rage_of_Mages_2_FINAL-FLT - 38 x 15 MB, FLT-ROM2.RAR ->.R36, I have flt-rom2.001 - flt-rom2.037, SFV is with dates, this one doesn't have a single match out of 3, 99% it's a repack

All check out, so we really can't go by NFOs. You said you wanted Rage_of_Mages_2_FINAL-FLT, but it's already on this cloud with the same last part size:

I had a brief chat with Defacto2.net's (aka 'retro scene release museum') site maintainer about databases of scene releases. And he gave a couple of interesting links to old databases. Some of you might already know this, but I'm just mentioning in case someone else haven't and might find it interesting.
The first link is mainly just RIPs and DOXs for games and apps pred until August 1997. No ISOs as far as I can tell.
The second link is a MySQL database from 1999-2007, although there are a lot of earlier releases prior to 1999.
The third link is also a MySQL database from 2012 by YUNOLEECH
Although I barely know anything about SQL and databases, I was able to quickly setup a portable version of XAMPP to check out what's inside. They are very similar to predb.me.
I had to make the following changes (taken from stackoverflow) to my XAMPP config to be able to view them:
So basically, now you have your own local copy similar to predb.me
Originally they were called dupe lists but these days they are often called pre lists
Here is a famous dupe list from the 1990s which requires early Windows to run.
https://defacto2.net/f/ad2cd4a
These are MySQL databases from the 2000s. You'll def need some dev-op skills to make any use of these, as you'll need a running MySQL server and then import the SQL data included in these files.

After that, you simply import the database file (predb.sql.bz2) and view it using phpMyAdmin.For Xampp version on Windows
Add this line to xampp\phpmyadmin\config.inc.php
$cfg['ExecTimeLimit'] = 6000;
And Change xampp\php\php.ini to
post_max_size = 750M
upload_max_filesize = 750M
max_execution_time = 5000
max_input_time = 5000
memory_limit = 1000M
And change xampp\mysql\bin\my.ini
max_allowed_packet = 200M
So basically, now you have your own local copy similar to predb.me

Thanks, I tried this a couple months ago and it didn't load. And I tried maximizing, but I guess not everything.
But I thought it was better than predb.me, even predb.ovh and predb.pw are better.

Well, the two main reasons it didn't load was that the default settings in XAMPP were set too low. That's why we need to increase the limits
1) The file size limit of the database
2) the 'execution time'
And these two database tables are huuuuge. The first one (which spans until end of 2007) is more than 2.6 million records. It took me about 30 minutes for this database to load. The second one from Yunoleech (2012) has more than 5 million records - took much longer. Try to load the smaller one first. If you're stuck in any particular step, let me know. I used the portable version: xampp-portable-windows-x64-7.3.8-2-VC15.zip
As to whether it was better than predb.me, I don't really know. I was just mentioning predb.me as an example.

Beware that yunoleech has a lot of renames and wrong dates. Also missing shitload of older releases.

Wait is the YUNOLEECH pre database with 5 million releases actual Scene releases? If so, how does one access it? Thanks in advance.

It's just a list of scene releases - not the actual scene releases themselves. Might be useful to people as a reference to see if some game had a scene release (either ISO or RIP). Although like sampson says, it may not be fully accurate (kinda like predb.me)
This entire list of scene releases up to a certain date (for example from 1980-01-01 to 2007-12-31) is called a 'pre list' (or 'dupe list' in the old days). And it's stored in the format of a SQL database file (.sql). I mentioned a couple links in my earlier post how to download such a database and view this list. Luckily, you don't have to know MySQL or PHP or such to view and search through this database.

Ah okay. I see. Thanks for explaining this to me. Why would this be useful though when sites like https://www.srrdb.com/ and https://predb.pw/ are around?samuel44 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2019, 02:13 It's just a list of scene releases - not the actual scene releases themselves.
